TIFF 2013 Day #4

Today has been the longest day I’ve experienced in a while. I attended the 12pm showing of Can A Song Save Your Life? and fell in love with the film (review to follow). It was the same feeling I had after seeing Silver Linings Playbook last year at the festival. Basically I thought it was absolutely brilliant.

On to the next order of business.

I was lucky enough to be graced with the presence of James Lafferty. I have loved this boy since One Tree Hill began airing in 2003 and wanted nothing more then to get my photograph with Nathan Scott. Back in 2009 I took a trip to Wilmington, North Carolina to visit the set with a best friend of mine. Unfortunately we didn’t get to meet any of the main cast and arrived at TRIC just two minutes after James left set and I was devastated. You can read about the trip here. And apparently Toronto is the best place for a One Tree Hill reunion as Tyler Hilton, who played Chris Keller on the television show was also in town. This was the second time I was able to get a picture with him.

Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto weren’t as fan friendly as I would’ve thought/hoped. I spotted them leaving press meetings and although they looked over they didn’t seem to give anyone their time of day.

Afterwards I made my way over to the Night Moves premiere. Before I grabbed a spot on the red carpet I waited to snap some pictures of Jake Gyllenhaal leaving the Ryerson Theatre after his film Enemy ended. Dakota Fanning took a couple pictures before heading in claiming that she was running late but didn’t even stay for the movie. On top of that, Jesse Eisenberg followed but had no problem with taking pictures and singing autographs for those who asked.
