BlackBerry People’s Choice Award Winner: Silver Linings Playbook

As predicted by myself and various others who had the chance to see David O’Russel’s Silver Linings Playbook (in some cases twice) at the Toronto International Film Festival it won Blackberry’s People’s Choice Award this year making it a a serious Oscar contender for Best Picture. Films that have won this award in the past have been Slumdog Millionaire and The King’s Speech. Jennifer Lawrence’s performance in the film leaves your jaw locked open way after the lights have turned on. People are quickly realizing that by February we may be able to refer to Jennifer Lawrence as Oscar winner. For those unaware Lawrence was Academy Award nominated back in 2010 for her role in Winter’s Bone. In fact she was the second youngest actress to ever be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress. While Bradley Cooper’s performance may not be Oscar worthy it’s definitely one of his best, if not the best.
